Guangdong urgently dispatches specialized forces to support flood relief in Guangxi

Affected by Typhoon “Maysak,” Guangxi experienced continuous heavy rainfall in early July, and severe flooding occurred in Qinzhou, Guigang and other areas. Some regions also faced road, power, and communications outages, making the tasks of relocating residents and carrying out rescue and disaster relief urgently needed.
After receiving a request for assistance from Guangxi, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Emergency Management quickly activated its interprovincial reinforcement mechanism and dispatched five professional emergency rescue teams, totaling 172 personnel and 379 sets of equipment, to Qinzhou and Guigang in two separate routes to take part in the rescue efforts.
As of the 9th, Guangdong's support forces had evacuated a total of 4,844 stranded residents and completed approximately 328,200 cubic meters of drainage operations. Guangdong said it will continue to make arrangements for the relocation and resettlement of residents and finish up drainage work according to changes in water levels and rescue needs, ensuring that the rescue forces remain on standby at all times.
