On July 21, the preliminary round of the weather services track of the 2026 "Data Element ×" competition Jilin Province division was held in Changchun, with 195 contestants from 39 teams taking part. The competing projects focused on fields such as agriculture, electric power, the lowaltitude economy, cultural tourism, and disaster prevention and mitigation, exploring the integrated application of meteorological data and industry data, and promoting the transformation of meteorological data from a "resource" into an "asset".
The Jilin Provincial Meteorological Bureau said that in recent years, the local area has continuously promoted meteorological data governance, product development, circulation and application, and authorized operation, explored pathways for marketoriented allocation of public meteorological data, and promoted the standardized circulation of historical data, realtime data, and forecast products, providing support for the development of related industries.
This competition was jointly organized by the Jilin Provincial Meteorological Bureau and the Jilin Provincial Government Services and Digital Construction Administration. The participating entities included enterprises, universities, research institutes, and industry users. The projects covered areas such as specialty agriculture, ecological protection, energy and power, smart cities, and the lowaltitude economy. Some of the cases have already been implemented in Jilin and have played a role in safeguarding grid security, optimizing new energy dispatch, and improving disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities.
