Director Na Hongjin's film 'Hope' surpassed 3 million cumulative viewers just 11 days after its release. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network tally on the 26th, the film drew an additional 320,000 or so viewers the previous day, bringing its cumulative audience to 3,129,829.
'Hope' has maintained the No. 1 spot at the box office since its release, and among this year's films, it has rapidly reached 1 million, 2 million, and 3 million viewers in succession. It is being recognized as a Korean film drawing attention in the summer movie season and continues its boxoffice momentum.
The film centers on the station chief of Hopo Port, near the Demilitarized Zone, and depicts what happens in the village along with news of a tiger's appearance. It stars Hwang Jungmin, Jo Insung, Jung Hoyeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender.
