On June 8, Yangzhou, Jiangsu, held a special press conference on "Getting off to a Good Start in the 15th FiveYear Plan," announcing the city’s development direction for the next five years. Yangzhou has proposed that by the 15th FiveYear Plan period, it will enter the ranks of cities with a gross regional product of one trillion yuan with high quality, and will continue to promote the building of a city renowned for industry and technological innovation, a city renowned for culture and tourism, and a city renowned for ecological livability, creating the "Eight Yangzhous." Yangzhou said that during the 14th FiveYear Plan period, the city made progress in the economy, industry, people’s livelihoods, and ecology. Its gross regional product reached 805.675 billion yuan, industrial invoiced sales exceeded one trillion yuan, the number of hightech enterprises surpassed 3,000, residents’ income grew steadily, and air quality also remained at a relatively good level. According to the plan, Yangzhou will focus on key areas such as industrial upgrading, technological innovation, transportation hubs, culture and tourism, green development, the business environment, and improvements to people’s livelihoods. This includes cultivating emerging industrial chains, advancing major manufacturing projects, expanding the scale of computing power and artificial intelligence industries, improving the integrated transportation system, and enhancing the quality of urban life through public service projects such as employment, education, healthcare, and elderly care.
