The first bonded liquefied natural gas bunkering order has been completed at the Guangzhou Lantau Anchorage

Guangzhou, June 10 — Guangzhou Port’s Lantau Anchorage recently completed its first bonded liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operation after becoming regularly open. In this operation, the bunkering vessel "Haiyang Shiyou 301" supplied LNG to the international sailing vessel "RURI PLANET," with a total of 1,663 tons bunkered, marking the Lantau Anchorage LNG bunkering service’s entry into the stage of normalized operation. Lantau Anchorage is located in the waters of the Pearl River Estuary and has favorable water depth conditions, making it suitable for large vessels to receive clean energy supplies. Previously, the anchorage was mostly opened through temporary approvals. After passing the national acceptance inspection in December 2025, it achieved regular opening and can provide operational support for ultralarge vessels of 150,000 tons and above. Huangpu Customs said that in recent years it has promoted the launch of an online information platform for bonded fuel supply networking, and improved customs clearance and operational efficiency through measures such as "one vessel, multiple supplies" and "advance declaration." Customs said it will continue to optimize regulatory services and further enhance Guangzhou Port’s bonded fuel bunkering capacity for international sailing vessels.
