Han Dong-hoon raises suspicions over the change to the joint inspection of the DMZ accident site to the 27th

Controversy over the investigation into Han Dong-hoon’s DMZ landmine explosion accident, calls for disclosure of the decision-making process Demanding accountability from the Ministry of National Defense and military leadership and calling for the truth to be uncovered

Representative Han Donghoon claimed that the joint onsite investigation related to the suspected landmine explosion accident in the DMZ on the western front has been changed to the 27th, and demanded that the decisionmaking process of the Ministry of National Defense and the military leadership be made public. At a press conference in front of the Ministry of National Defense building in Yongsan on the 26th, Han said that the United Nations Command ordered a swift investigation on the 21st, the day of the accident, but the South Korean military rejected the related request. He explained that requests to share site access, materials, bodycam footage, and interviews with the injured were not accepted. Han also noted that the joint investigation was originally scheduled for the 29th but had been moved up to the 27th, and argued that it should be clarified who was responsible for this decision among the defense minister, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the National Security Office, and the president. He repeatedly called for a prompt investigation, saying that as time passes after the accident, securing evidence is being delayed.
