The 17th CrossStrait (Hubei) Sports and Cultural Exchange, along with basketball and pickleball competitions, opened on the evening of September 11 at Wuhan University of Technology. More than 160 Taiwanese youth and students from mainland universities took part in the event, using sports as a bridge to strengthen understanding and interaction. The opening night began with a basketball game between Wuhan University of Technology and Taiwan Normal University. In the match, both sides traded leads, with tight offense and defense and an enthusiastic atmosphere on site. Taiwanese team coach Li Binghong said that such exchanges not only help improve basketball skills, but also deepen mutual friendship. When interviewed, several Taiwanese youths said they value exchanging experiences with mainland peers and making friends more than the outcome of the competition.
