The 9th ChinaEurasia Expo opened on June 25 in Urumqi, Xinjiang. Ding Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. In his remarks, Ding Xuexiang said that the Eurasian continent is an important region for civilizational exchange and trade, and also a key cooperation area for the joint construction of the Belt and Road. China is willing to continue expanding opening up with all parties in Eurasia, strengthen policy coordination, enhance connectivity, and promote better integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation. He also noted that, with central government support, Xinjiang has achieved remarkable development in recent years. The Chinese side will continue to support Xinjiang in pursuing a path of highquality development suited to its own characteristics, advance the construction of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and better serve the domestic and international dual circulation. At the opening ceremony, representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan also delivered speeches. Before the event, Ding Xuexiang toured the exhibition halls and exchanged views with participating organizations. From June 24 to 25, he also met respectively with foreign dignitaries attending the event and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
