At the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and HighLevel Meeting on Global AI Governance, President Xi Jinping raised several key questions regarding the development of artificial intelligence: when machines begin to think, how should humans coexist; when algorithms take part in decisionmaking, how can security be ensured; when technology challenges ethics, how can governance keep up; and when the digital divide widens, how can inclusive access be achieved?
