President Lee's approval rating at 55.2%... declining for 3 consecutive weeks

In a Realmeter poll, President Lee Jaemyung’s approval rating for his administration was 55.2%, down 3.9 percentage points from the previous week. The approval rating has declined for three consecutive weeks since 60.5% in the second week of May. The polling agency explained that the shortage of ballots that emerged during the June 3 local elections and calls for checking the government over the election results affected the decline. In particular, the approval rating was recorded even lower in surveys conducted on the 4th and 5th, immediately after the election. In the same agency’s party approval poll, the Democratic Party of Korea recorded 41.8% and the People Power Party 41.1%, narrowing the gap between the two parties to within the margin of error. This survey was conducted using a wireless ARS method, and the margin of error was ±2.2 percentage points for the presidential evaluation and ±3.1 percentage points for party approval ratings.
