Health insurance premium rate frozen, maintaining 7.19% next year as well The burden on employees and local subscribers remains unchanged; check the financial outlook too

The government has decided to keep next year's health insurance premium rate at 7.19%, the same as this year. For workplace subscribers, the individual and the company each pay 3.595% of income, and the calculation of insurance premiums for local subscribers based on assets will also be frozen at the current level. The Ministry of Health and Welfare explained the freeze by citing increased premium revenue from the semiconductor industry boom and expanded government budget support. The government expects to generate an additional 3.8 trillion won in premium revenue next year. However, concerns about the finances of the National Health Insurance system continue. A deficit is expected in the system's finances this year, and the possibility of depleting reserves in the future has also been raised, making medium to longterm financial management a key challenge.
