The Blue House expressed regret over Chief Justice Cho Heedae's refusal to renominate a candidate for Supreme Court justice, saying it was an unconstitutional view.
On the 22nd, the Blue House pushed back against the position that it would not renominate a successor candidate for former Supreme Court justice Noh Taeak, criticizing it as an argument that nullifies the President's appointment authority. It also explained that the official request for renomination was carried out as an electronic document and that the Prime Minister had also signed it, stating that there were no procedural defects.
The Democratic Party of Korea also strongly criticized Chief Justice Cho. Representative Kim Minseok said it appeared to be a power struggle, and spokesperson Lee Yongwoo called it an act that denied the President's authority and demanded his resignation.
