On June 13, the main venue event for Shaanxi Province's 2026 "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" was held in Tongchuan. Centered on the theme "Cultural relics belong to the people and serve the people," the event showcased Shaanxi's latest progress in cultural relic protection, inheritance and utilization, and civilizational exchange.
The Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau stated that in the next step it will continue to strengthen the systematic protection of cultural relics, improve laws, regulations, and supervisory systems, and promote the digitalization and modernization of cultural relic governance. At the same time, it will further explore the historical value and cultural connotations of cultural relics, and advance work such as archaeological research, site revitalization, venue upgrading, and the inheritance of red culture.
At the event, the list of Shaanxi Province's 2026 "Most Beautiful Cultural Relic Safety Guardians" was announced, and exemplary cases of cultural relicthemed travel routes were also released. The Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau also signed cooperation agreements with relevant units, while the Tongchuan Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Shaanxi Academy of Archaeology. A cultural relic handover ceremony was held on site, along with publicity activities featuring cultural relic protection, cultural and creative products, and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions.
