Peng Song, former Executive Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Office for Military-Civilian Integration, has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office

According to a July 21 report from the Shanghai Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with approval from the Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Shanghai Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has filed a case and conducted an investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal violations of Peng Song, former executive deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Office for CivilMilitary Integration. The notice shows that Peng Song was accused of losing his ideals and beliefs and engaging in superstitious activities, violating the spirit of the Central EightPoint Regulations, accepting gifts and banquets that may affect the fair performance of his official duties, concealing and failing to report relevant personal matters, and other issues such as holding shares in a nonlisted company and violating conduct discipline. The investigation also found that Peng Song engaged in extensive trading of power for money, used his position to seek benefits for others, and illegally accepted a huge amount of property. The Shanghai Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has decided to expel him from the Communist Party and remove him from public office, terminate his status as a delegate to the 12th Shanghai Party Congress, and transfer the suspected criminal matters to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law.
