Google unveils its top-tier AI model, ‘Gemini 4 Argon’

Gemini 4 Argon, Google’s new AI model optimized for long-form work and coding See the changes that deliver both performance and safety, and check out the competitive landscape

Google has unveiled its new toptier artificial intelligence (AI) model, ‘Gemini 4 Argon,’ for the first time in seven months. This model focuses on handling long and complex tasks such as coding, professional work, and securityrelated operations, and its response length has also increased significantly. Google said that in performance evaluations, Argon ranked near the top in multiple categories. It showed particular strengths in work automation and in understanding long documents and videos, but there were also assessments that it lagged behind competing models in actual development work. This announcement comes amid ongoing competition with OpenAI and Anthropic. Google plans to roll out the model sequentially, first to security companies and institutions, and then to paying customers after safety verification. Industry observers see this as part of a continuing trend to improve both the speed of AI development and safety at the same time.
