President Lee Jae-myung emphasizes the recovery of pro-Japanese unjust assets in his Memorial Day address

President Lee Jaemyung emphasized the need to honor those who protect the community, as well as to hold accountable acts that betray the community, at the Memorial Day commemorative ceremony. At the 71st Memorial Day commemorative ceremony held on the 6th at the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery in Dongjak District, Seoul, President Lee referred to the Act on the Reversion of Property of ProJapanese Collaborators, which was promulgated on the 2nd, and said he would investigate and recover assets unfairly accumulated by those who committed proJapanese, antinational acts. He also mentioned the sacrifices of independence activists, fallen soldiers who defended the nation, and citizens who contributed to democratization, and promised sufficient respect and support for uniformed workers such as military personnel, firefighters, police officers, maritime police officers, and correctional officers. More than 3,000 people, including the bereaved families of national merit recipients and government officials, attended the ceremony that day.
