A readers' event in Sri Lanka for Volume V of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China was held on July 3, local time, in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. The event was jointly hosted by the State Council Information Office of China, China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, and the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, and was attended by about 300 people from the political, academic, think tank, and media sectors of both China and Sri Lanka.
Guests at the event said that the book helps the international community gain a more comprehensive understanding of China's development path, governance approach, and related concepts, and also provides an important window for observing Chinese modernization. Sri Lankan participants also stressed their hope to continue expanding exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields and to promote the steady development of bilateral relations.
At the event, the Chinese side presented Sri Lankan guests with the English edition of Volume V of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China and the Sinhala edition of Volume II. Experts at the event also exchanged views and discussed topics including national governance, green development, open cooperation, and the Belt and Road Initiative.
