Thai Prime Minister Anutin visits Sichuan: willing to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Sichuan

Thai Prime Minister Anutin completed his twoday trip to Sichuan on July 19, marking an important stop during his first visit to China after taking office. During the visit, he attended the Investment and Economic Forum, unveiled the Investment Office of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Chengdu, and held exchanges with several Sichuanrelated enterprises on optical communications, new energy vehicles, aviation logistics, consumer electronics, and digital life. When meeting with the head of Sichuan, Anutin said that Thailand and China have close relations, and that Sichuan and Thailand have strong complementarity in trade and economic cooperation, agriculture, science and education, and tourism. The Thai side is willing to continue promoting both sides to consolidate and expand pragmatic cooperation, foster peopletopeople bonds, and achieve mutual benefit and winwin results. The report also noted that in recent years, Sichuan and Thailand have made notable progress in highlevel visits, economic and trade exchanges, and tourism cooperation. The two sides have currently established 5 pairs of sister cities and 11 pairs of friendly cooperative relations; in 2025, bilateral import and export trade in goods increased by 112.5% year on year, and maintained rapid growth in the first five months of 2026. Anutin repeatedly greeted people in Chinese during the event, leaving a deep impression on local residents.
