The Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration has raised the typhoon emergency response to Level II

The Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration raised its typhoon prevention emergency response to Level II starting at 18:00 on the 11th to deal with the strong wind and rain impacts brought by Typhoon “Bavi”. According to reports, Typhoon “Bavi” is expected to make landfall with considerable intensity, have a long duration of impact, and affect a wide area. From July 11 to 13, it will bring windy and rainy weather to eastern Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui, and other areas in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and increase the risk of secondary disasters. To做好 typhoon prevention work, the Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration has strengthened consultations and assessments with meteorological departments, and continues to issue warnings through the smart management platform, VHF, telephone, and text messages, reminding port and shipping enterprises as well as ship crews to implement preventive measures. At present, relevant departments are organizing ships to seek shelter from the wind in accordance with the principle of “mainly guiding and diverting, anchoring by zone, and categorized control.” Some passengercarrying vessels, construction ships, and “five small vessels” have already suspended sailing and operations as required, while duty shifts and emergency tugboat deployments have also been strengthened.
