High-quality development of Internet basic resources: focusing on the 2030 and 2035 goals and 16 tasks See how the policy upgrades domain names, IPv6, satellite internet, and security governance
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the National Data Administration recently jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting HighQuality Development of Internet Fundamental Resources," proposing phased goals for 2030 and 2035, and deploying 16 tasks around the supply, governance, security, and application of internet fundamental resources.
The document proposes that by 2030, China will achieve systematic breakthroughs in the highquality development of internet fundamental resources, forming a number of original technological achievements and leading standards; by 2035, a new type of internet infrastructure with advanced architecture, ubiquitous interconnection, high speed, broad coverage, and secure and controllable capabilities will be fully built, making China an important source of innovation and a leader in the global basic internet field.
The opinions focus on basic innovation, infrastructure construction, security assurance, application services, supervision and management, and international cooperation. The content includes strengthening basic theoretical research and breakthroughs in key core technologies, optimizing the layout of traditional infrastructure such as domain name resolution and routing, exploring the construction of new infrastructure such as agent interconnection networks and satellite internet, improving mechanisms for resource operation security and risk monitoring, enhancing the application effectiveness of IPv6 and Chinese domain names, and strengthening participation in the formulation of international rules and standards.
