Yuway System Failure Just Before the Regular Application Deadline, Up to 1,200 Applicants Relieved
Applicants affected by the computer system failure during early admissions application submission will be given an additional application opportunity Apply for relief through UwayApply and also check the issues surrounding the deadline and competition rate
A computer system failure occurred in the Uwayapply system just before the deadline for college rolling admissions applications, and it was estimated that as many as about 1,200 examinees were unable to submit their applications. The Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education decided to give affected examinees an additional application opportunity.
The disruption lasted for about 30 minutes starting around 5:50 p.m. on the 11th, the last day for applications for the 2027 academic year rolling admissions. Those eligible for relief include examinees who were unable to complete their applications because of this, or who had no choice but to apply to a different university instead of the one they originally intended to apply to.
Applications for relief will be accepted on the Uwayapply website from 9:00 a.m. on the 14th to 6:00 p.m. on the 16th. If the 피해 is confirmed through computer records, applications can be submitted to the relevant university by 10:00 p.m. on the 16th. However, as some universities' competition rates were disclosed during the deadline extension process, raising concerns about fairness, the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education have decided to further examine whether there were any unfair cases.
