According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the May PPI rose 1.1% from the previous month, matching April's pace of increase. In particular, goods prices jumped 2.8%, driving the overall rise, with a large part of that due to higher energy prices. Gasoline prices surged 23.4%, and diesel and jet fuel also rose.
