Li Qiang Meets with Slovak President Pellegrini

On the afternoon of July 29, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, who is on a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Qiang said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Slovakia, the two sides have maintained mutual respect and treated each other as equals, and bilateral relations have continued to develop. After the two countries established a strategic partnership in 2024, cooperation entered a faster stage of development. The Chinese side is willing to continue to consolidate political mutual trust with the Slovak side, expand practical cooperation, promote the highquality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and strengthen alignment in areas such as new energy vehicles and artificial intelligence. Li Qiang also said that the Chinese side encourages more Chinese enterprises to invest in Slovakia, and hopes the Slovak side will continue to provide a fair, transparent, and nondiscriminatory business environment. The two sides will also strengthen peopletopeople exchanges and enhance public support for the relationship. Pellegrini said that the Slovak side attaches great importance to relations with China and is willing to further deepen cooperation in investment, science and technology, transport and logistics, and youth exchanges, as well as support constructive dialogue and practical cooperation between Europe and China.
