The Politburo meeting assessed the current economic situation

On April 28, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting to analyze and study the current economic situation and economic work. The meeting made arrangements around expanding domestic demand, major project construction, responding to external shocks, ensuring energy and resource security, and improving people's livelihoods. Experts interviewed said that the meeting's assessment of the situation was relatively objective and calm. It not only recognized the positive factors in the economic start and early stage, but also faced up to challenges such as business operations, employment and income growth, supplydemand tensions, and risks in some sectors. Such judgment helps stabilize expectations and strengthen confidence. The meeting also emphasized enhancing selfreliance, independence, and endogenous momentum, improving the resilience and security level of industrial and supply chains, and boosting effective investment by advancing the construction of water networks, new power grids, computing networks, communication networks, urban underground pipeline networks, and logistics networks. At the same time, livelihood issues such as education, healthcare, child care, elder care, and price stability were also brought into focus.
