A wildfire broke out in the demilitarized zone (DMZ) near Oemyeonri, Sudongmyeon, Goseonggun, Gangwon Province, on the afternoon of the 4th, and forestry and firefighting authorities are carrying out suppression efforts.
The fire is in a hardtoaccess area between the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) and the Southern Limit Line, and one helicopter has currently been deployed. Since ground crews are difficult to deploy directly, 18 personnel and six pieces of equipment have been stationed near the Southern Limit Line to prepare for the spread.
