The Ministry of National Defense Hosts a Reception to Celebrate the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Liberation Army

A reception was held to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Dong Jun delivered a speech emphasizing national defense development and combat readiness. Focus on the modernization of national defense and the armed forces, as well as the situation in the Taiwan Strait, and learn about the latest statements from the Chinese military.

On July 31, the Ministry of National Defense held a reception at the Great Hall of the People to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. Defense Minister Dong Jun attended and delivered a speech. Chinese and foreign guests, including military, local, and defense attachés from various countries stationed in China, were present at the event. In his speech, Dong Jun extended holiday greetings to officers and soldiers of the PLA, officers and soldiers of the Armed Police Force, military civilian personnel, reservists, militia members, as well as retired veteran comrades, retired military personnel, disabled veterans of the revolution, and the families of martyrs and fallen service members, and expressed gratitude to all parties that support national defense and military development. He said that this year marks the overlap of several important historical milestones, and that the People’s Army will continue to uphold the Party’s absolute leadership over the military, advance the modernization of national defense and the armed forces, and enhance its ability to fight and win real wars. He also stressed the need to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and to oppose separatist activities for “Taiwan independence” and foreign military interference.
