The second comprehensive special counsel has requested an arrest warrant for Yoo Byungho, a member of the Board of Audit and Inspection, in connection with allegations of a botched audit over the process of relocating former President Yoon Sukyeol's residence. The special counsel is continuing its investigation, believing that Yoo was involved in scaling back or covering up the audit results. According to the special counsel, Yoo is suspected of improperly intervening in the method of investigating the Presidential Office and 21Gram during his tenure as Secretary General of the Board of Audit and Inspection. It is reported that the special counsel confirmed indications that he had instructed staff to reduce document submission requests or conduct written audits instead of inperson investigations. Yoo denied the allegations, saying the decision took into account the characteristics of security facilities and audit procedures. The prearrest detention hearing is scheduled to be held on the 20th at the Seoul Central District Court.
