The special investigation team led by Kwon Changyoung questioned former President Yoon Suk Yeol for the second time on the 13th, conducting an investigation that lasted about nine hours.
Starting around 10 a.m. that day, the special counsel team interrogated former President Yoon as a suspect on charges of rebellion under the Military Criminal Act. The investigation, including the time spent reviewing the statement, ended around 6:54 p.m., and former President Yoon returned to Seoul Detention Center in a Ministry of Justice transport vehicle.
The special counsel is investigating allegations that former President Yoon conspired with former Defense Minister Kim Yonghyun, former Army Chief of Staff Park Ansoo, and others to send soldiers to the National Assembly and the National Election Commission to incite an uprising. Yoon's side stated that the same matter is already included in the ongoing charges of leading an insurrection, and argued that this amounts to double prosecution. It was reported that former President Yoon largely denied the charges during the questioning.
