On September 23, the Guizhou main venue event for the 2026 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival opened in Taijiang County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, with the theme “Opening a New Chapter in Harvests · Advancing Revitalization Through Hard Work.” The event showcased Guizhou's mountainous特色 agriculture achievements and the new look of rural areas, and included agricultural product exhibitions and sales, farming experiences, folk performances, and supplydemand matchmaking.
At the venue, Miao flying songs, lusheng performances, and parade teams created a strong festive atmosphere. Featured agricultural products from Taijiang and many parts of Guizhou, such as Likwen Xiangmi rice, highland purple sweet potatoes, and sour soup, were displayed collectively. Some exhibition areas also expanded sales channels through livestream ecommerce, promoting onlineoffline interaction.
In addition to agricultural product displays, the event also incorporated intangible cultural heritage and local cultural elements such as Miao embroidery, silver ornaments, wooden drum dance, and sour soup cuisine, while setting up interactive experiences including catching fish in rice fields, catching ducks, pounding rice cakes, and making Sisters' Rice. The organizers said they hope to use the Harvest Festival platform to promote the sale of Guizhou products beyond the province and advance integrated development of agriculture, culture, sports, and tourism.
