Wang Yi will attend the China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and visit Kyrgyzstan

On July 20, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the ChinaASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila, the Philippines, on July 22, and then travel to CholponAta, Kyrgyzstan, from July 23 to 25 to take part in the Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, as well as pay a visit to Kyrgyzstan. A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that China supports ASEAN's central position in regional cooperation and looks forward to further building consensus on cooperation through this meeting, promoting the continued development of ChinaASEAN relations, and moving toward a closer community with a shared future. During the SCO Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Wang Yi will exchange views with foreign ministers of all member states on the regional situation, the organization's future development, and cooperation in multiple fields, in preparation for this year's SCO Bishkek Summit. The Chinese side also stated that Kyrgyzstan is an important neighboring country and partner of China, and that this visit will advance both sides' implementation of the consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and promote regional peace and development.
