On July 27, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management urgently allocated 180 million yuan in central natural disaster relief funds to support Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Liaoning, Jilin, and other provinces in carrying out emergency flood control and typhoon rescue and disaster relief efforts.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Management, multiple rounds of typhoons have recently made landfall in China, and heavy rainfall has occurred in South China, East China, and Northeast China, worsening hazardous situations and disaster conditions in some areas. The funds will be mainly used for searching for and rescuing, relocating, and resettling affected people, eliminating hazards and risks, inspecting and addressing secondary disaster risks, and repairing damaged or collapsed houses.
Relevant departments said that this arrangement is intended to ease the pressure on emergency relief in disasterstricken areas as soon as possible, safeguard the lives and property of affected people, and support local authorities in subsequent rescue and recovery work.
