With the launch of Yeongjong District in Incheon, the district will promote regional development through airport cooperation and transportation and medical infrastructure Check out Mayor Son Hwa-jeong's strategy and explore the tangible benefits for residents and the direction of change

Incheon Yeongjong District will be newly launched on July 1 after being separated from Jung District. Mayor Son Hwajeong, who was elected as the inaugural district mayor, said in an interview on the 30th that she would pursue a regional development strategy based on cooperation with Incheon International Airport. Mayor Son said she would change the relationship with the airport from confrontation or demands to one centered on coexistence and cooperation, and create results that residents can directly feel. To this end, she is also considering improvements to public transportation, such as a latenight shuttle bus for airport workers and reorganizing routes connecting key hubs. She also named the groundbreaking for a general hospital as the most important task during her term. Since Yeongjong District lacks medical facilities and residents face major inconvenience because they have to travel to the mainland in emergencies, she plans to speed up the expansion of local medical infrastructure.
