The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that monsoon rains will continue nationwide until the 22nd, while intense heat with daytime highs reaching 37 degrees Celsius will persist in some areas. The rain is expected to be concentrated mainly from night until the following morning. Heavy rain is anticipated in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and Chungcheong regions, centered on the central part of the country, and strong rain of 30 to 50 mm per hour may fall in the early dawn and early morning hours of the 21st. The Korea Meteorological Administration said that, due to rain clouds rapidly developing overnight, there is a need to prepare for damage such as flooding, landslides, and river overflow in urban areas, mountainous regions, and rural areas. The heat is also expected to continue until the 22nd, with both morning and daytime temperatures likely to remain above normal.
