The North Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency has launched an internal investigation into two police officers from a police substation under the Eumseong Police Station who did not respond in time even after receiving a report of suspected drunk driving. According to the police, Senior Inspector A and Inspector B were found to have been asleep and unable to respond to the scene in the early morning of March 29, when a citizen reported suspected drunk driving. The reporter followed the suspected vehicle and relayed the situation, but after no response was dispatched for about an hour, reported again. The fact was later revealed during the process of confirming the circumstances at the 112 Emergency Dispatch Center, and the police ultimately failed to apprehend the vehicle, so they were also unable to confirm whether drunk driving had actually occurred.
