Retesting due to leakage of the practical exam questions for the National Technical Qualification General Machinery Engineer

The Human Resources Development Service of Korea confirmed that the questions had been leaked in advance in the national technical qualification General Mechanical Engineer practical exam held on the 26th and decided to administer a retest. According to the agency, the questions were opened the day before due to a mistake by staff and exam committee members during the test process, and the related content was later spread on online communities. The agency determined that there was a serious issue with the fairness of the exam and designated all 57 examinees who took the test as eligible for the retest. The retest will be available from the 31st through the 5th of next month, and eligible testtakers may choose whether to take it, as well as select a test center within their preferred region. The agency said it plans to provide compensation to the testtakers and, through a special audit into the cause of the incident, take strict action against those responsible and prepare measures to prevent a recurrence.
