The pilot rope construction across the river for the Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River Road-Rail Bridge has been completed

On August 5, the pilot rope crossing over the Yangtze River was successfully completed for the Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River RailRoad Bridge, achieving precise alignment between the north and south main towers. The project is invested in and constructed by Hubei Communications Investment Group, with China Construction Third Engineering Bureau and China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau serving as contractors, and is located in Jingzhou, Hubei. This construction marks a key step as the bridge enters the upperspan overriver construction stage of the suspension bridge system, and it also means that subsequent work such as catwalk installation and main cable erection will begin one after another. The construction team adopted a vessel towing scheme and used a digital monitoring system to control the cable body's tension and operating posture in real time. At the same time, it coordinated with maritime authorities to impose temporary traffic controls in the construction waters to reduce risks. The Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River RailRoad Bridge has a total length of 7.91 kilometers, a main bridge length of 1,723 meters, and a main span of 1,120 meters. It is the world's largest railroad dualuse bridge with a steel truss girder cablestayed–suspension cooperative system. The project is expected to begin main cable erection in October 2026 and be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2027. After completion, it will help ease pressure on the Yangtze River crossing corridor of the Erguang Expressway and improve the layout of Hubei's rivercrossing passages.
