National Day holiday safety prevention: The Ministry of Emergency Management deploys hazard inspections and forest fire prevention Focus on fire risk control in key areas, strengthen accountability, and safeguard the public for a safe holiday

On October 3, the Ministry of Emergency Management held a video scheduling meeting to deploy safety precautions for the National Day holiday. The meeting reported that during the holiday period, the ministry and provincial authorities together dispatched more than 4,200 inspection teams and identified more than 40,300 problems and hidden hazards, requiring localities to promptly rectify the issues found and draw lessons broadly from each case. The meeting pointed out that recently, forest and grassland fire risk levels have been relatively high in western and northern Beijing, western and northern Hebei, central and northern Shanxi, eastern Inner Mongolia, southwestern Liaoning, central and eastern Shandong, and northern Xinjiang. As the holiday sees more tourists driving themselves and entering mountains and forests, the pressure on firesource control in relevant areas is increasing, making it necessary to further tighten fire prevention responsibilities, strengthen publicity and reminders, and做好 emergency response. The meeting also required localities to continuously assess local risks in light of weather changes and the reporting of accidents and disasters, give full play to the roles of the Office of the Work Safety Committee and the Office of the Committee for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief, coordinate with relevant departments to implement preventive measures, and做好 duty shifts and standby arrangements to ensure that the public celebrates the holiday safely.
