The animated film 'Mungchi on the Road,' starring Do Kyung-soo and Park So-dam, completed with over 140,000 frames

The animated film 'Mungchi on the Way,' featuring voice performances by actors Do Kyungsoo, Park Sodam, and Park Cheolmin, was produced using more than 140,000 frames. The film tells the story of an abandoned dog named Mungchi who sets out on a journey to seek freedom with friends from the streets. The production team applied a 'record first, animate later' method, in which the characters' emotions were recorded first and the visuals were created afterward, capturing the characters' breathing and emotions more naturally. A total of 178 staff members took part in the production, highlighting the technical capabilities of Korean animation in scenes such as the dog catcher chase and the sequences moving between the forest and the city. 'Mungchi on the Way' is a 4K remastered version of the film 'Underdog,' reedited to a runtime of 93 minutes with sound and music also enhanced. The film will be released at Lotte Cinema on the 19th of next month.
