KAIST and NVIDIA jointly develop a human motion foundation model

KAIST is joining forces with NVIDIA to develop a human motion foundation model that learns human movement and physical intelligence. On the 26th, KAIST announced that it will establish the NVIDIA AI Technology Center for joint research in the field of physical AI.
This collaboration will be carried out through a model in which KAIST's Department of Mechanical Engineering and NVIDIA jointly operate the Human Physical Intelligence Technology Center. The research base will be the Human Physical Intelligence Research Center of KAIST's Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the scope of cooperation is planned to expand into wearable robots, humanoids, digital twins, and manufacturing.
Based on research in wearable robots and biorobots, the center focuses on implementing through AI and robotics the principles by which humans move, exert force, and maintain balance in realworld environments. NVIDIA will be responsible for technical advisory and developer support, and it also plans to operate research and education programs utilizing Omniverse and digital twin platforms. The two sides will review progress every six months and hold an international symposium every year to share research results.
