Hubei Establishes a National Cultural Relics Import and Export Review and Administration Office

On June 11, the Hubei Administration of the National Cultural Heritage Import and Export Review was officially inaugurated in Wuhan at the Hubei Provincial Museum. The establishment of this administration aims to improve the national cultural relics appraisal system and further strengthen cultural relics safety management. The Hubei Provincial Museum stated that cultural relics import and export review is an important system for ensuring the safety of cultural relics and regulating cultural exchange. With the new institution now unveiled, the Hubei Provincial Museum will take on functions such as reviewing the import and export of cultural relics across the province and appraising and evaluating cultural relics involved in cases, providing support for preventing cultural relic smuggling and maintaining market order. That day, the Hubei Provincial Cultural Heritage Bureau also signed cooperation agreements with the Cultural Relics Publishing House, the China Cultural Relics Information Consulting Center, and other organizations to deepen collaboration in areas such as archaeological publishing, digital resource development, digital preservation of cultural relics, and talent cultivation. The Hubei Provincial Museum also reached cooperation with the Yunmeng County Government, and will rely on cultural resources such as the Qin bamboo slips from Shuihudi in Yunmeng to promote exhibitions, collection exchanges, and cultural and creative product development.
