Yuan Qingshan, Former Deputy Director of the Huizhou Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee in Guangdong, Expelled from the Party and Dismissed from Public Office

According to a notice from the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Yuan Qingshan, former member of the Party Leadership Group and former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Huizhou Municipal People’s Congress, has been placed under investigation for serious violations of discipline and law. The notice shows that Yuan Qingshan was involved in issues such as illegally accepting gifts and cash, seeking benefits for others and accepting money and property in connection with employee recruitment, using his authority to seek benefits for relatives, and using the convenience of his position to help others in matters such as project contracting and student enrollment while illegally accepting huge sums of money and property. After discussion at a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval by the Provincial Party Committee, it was decided to expel Yuan Qingshan from the Party, and the Provincial Supervision Commission would dismiss him from public office, terminate his qualification as a delegate to the 12th Huizhou Municipal Party Congress, confiscate his illegal gains, and transfer the suspected criminal issues to the procuratorate for review and prosecution according to law.
