The 2026 Pujiang Innovation Forum will be held in Shanghai in mid-September

The 2026 Pujiang Innovation Forum (19th) will be held in Shanghai from September 11 to 14, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Shanghai Municipality. The theme of this year's forum is "Sharing Innovation and Shaping the Future Together: The Mission of the Global Scientific and Technological Community in the Context of the New Round of Scientific and Technological Revolution," with the Republic of South Africa as the guest country and Hunan Province as the guest province. On September 4, the forum press conference was held in Beijing. Relevant officials said that, as of now, representatives from the scientific and technology, industry, and investment sectors from more than 50 countries and regions, as well as more than 20 international organizations, have registered to attend. The forum will focus on major national strategic needs, international scientific and technological cooperation, regional collaborative innovation, and exchanges of scientific and technological talent, with arrangements including an opening ceremony, the main forum, 24 themed forums, and activities such as the Youth Innovation Lecture and results release conferences. The organizers said that this year's forum will focus on cuttingedge fields such as artificial intelligence, braininspired intelligence, quantum computing, future medicine, and synthetic biology, and will launch new branded events such as "Pujiang Question in Science" to showcase hardtech achievements and research reports. South Africa said it hopes to use this platform to showcase its own scientific and technological innovation system and promote deeper cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing. Hunan Province will also participate in activities related to the guest province, promoting the matching of more innovation resources.
