At the Meteorology Special Session of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference held in Shanghai on July 17, the China Meteorological Administration globally released the "Mazu" Fengyun Satellite AI Toolbox. The toolbox combines Fengyun meteorological satellite observation capabilities with artificial intelligence technology to provide international users with an integrated solution for satellite applications.
According to the introduction, this toolbox integrates functions such as satellite data reception, AI inference, multisource data fusion, and operational applications. It can be rapidly deployed according to the needs of different countries and regions, and supports multiple scenarios including internet users, direct satellite reception station users, CMACast users, and field emergency response, enabling closedloop processing of data acquisition, intelligent analysis, and operational applications.
On the same day, the China Meteorological Administration also announced that "Mazu" Djibouti 2.0 had been formally delivered to Djibouti. At the same time, it launched the construction of the ChinaThailand Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Forecasting and Early Warning of Meteorological Disasters, and released the AI meteorological service system "Fenghe" large language model and its global opensource plan, aiming to enhance global cooperation in disaster prevention and mitigation through technology sharing.
