The Past Events of Luo Binghui Carrying Out United Front Work Among Former Yunnan Army Subordinates
Luo Binghui's United Front work: contacting Yunnan Army generals and promoting unity in the War of Resistance Explore his key actions in Wuhan and understand the historical impact behind them
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army's Long March. Recently, when a reporter interviewed in Yiliang County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, it was learned about Luo Binghui's related experiences in united front work during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
Luo Binghui was born in Yiliang, Yunnan. In his early years, he joined the Yunnan Army, later joined the Communist Party of China and took part in the Jian uprising. During the Long March, he led his troops to undertake important tasks and made contributions to the Red Army. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance, he assisted in united front work in Wuhan, and, by leveraging ties with fellow townsmen from Yunnan and old acquaintances in the Yunnan Army, maintained contact with several generals in the 60th Army.
The report mentioned that Luo Binghui once interacted and exchanged views with Zhang Chong, Lu Han, Pan Shuoduan, Zeng Zesheng, and others, promoting unity in the War of Resistance. Zhang Chong later continued to take part in the War of Resistance under the guidance of the Communist Party of China and joined the Communist Party of China after the war. The article argues that the choices these Yunnan Army generals later made at different historical junctures were closely related to Luo Binghui's early united front work.
