Shandong Provincial CPPCC Promotes the Upgrading of the Service Industry Through a "Consultation Closed Loop"

The Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference recently held a special consultation on the development of the service sector, focusing on "promoting the expansion and quality improvement of the service industry and building a new high ground for the modern service economy," and has formed a relatively complete working mechanism through steps such as research, consultation, and implementation. Reports show that in 2025, Shandong's value added of the service sector exceeded 5.58 trillion yuan, up 6.1% year on year. On the basis of its overall scale and good growth momentum, Shandong still hopes to further raise the level of its service industry, so as to better support manufacturing upgrading, employment absorption, and consumption expansion. During the preparation of the special consultative Standing Committee meeting, the Shandong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC organized committee members and relevant departments to conduct indepth research in enterprises and industrial parks, and put forward a number of proposals on topics including highend equipment, pharmaceutical safety evaluation, logistics, and the openair economy. After the meeting, the relevant opinions were compiled into proposals and CPPCC information, and received instructions from the main leaders of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government. Some of the content was also incorporated into provincial policy documents on the service industry.
