On June 4, the Ministry of Emergency Management released a batch of typical cases of strict law enforcement in work safety, and reported that in some regions and industries, safety accidents have occurred frequently since the beginning of the year. It stressed the need to tighten regulatory responsibilities, strengthen the connection between administrative law enforcement and criminal justice, and strictly investigate and punish violations and crimes related to work safety in accordance with the law. The cases released this time involve situations such as inadequate rectification of major hidden safety risks in industrial and trade enterprises, illegal storage of fireworks and firecrackers, illegal operation of hazardous chemicals, and illegal manufacture of explosives. The relevant cases come from places including Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Shandong, Hubei, and Guangxi. They include both administrative penalties and cases transferred to public security organs and courts for sentencing in accordance with the law. The Ministry of Emergency Management said that this batch of cases is intended to serve as a warning and to promote greater enforcement efforts in all localities, safeguard the bottom line of work safety, and prevent similar accidents from happening again.
