Coupang logistics center fire in Seoknam-dong, Seohae-gu, Incheon fully extinguished after 110 hours Quickly check the key points, from the large-scale firefighting process to casualties and the investigation into the cause
The fire that broke out at Coupang's No. 32 logistics center in Seoknamdong, Seogu, Incheon, was completely extinguished about 110 hours after it started. The Incheon Fire Headquarters said the extinguishing was completed at around 8:35 p.m. on the 22nd.
The fire started on the 6th floor of the logistics center at around 6:54 a.m. on the 18th and spread to the upper floors. It took a long time to extinguish because of the structure of the large logistics center, which has floors from the basement level 1 to the 8th floor above ground, and the combustible materials stored inside.
The fire authorities issued Response Level 1 and Level 2 in succession, and also issued a national fire mobilization order, drawing personnel and equipment from eight nearby cities and provinces. A total of 239 fire engines and 845 firefighters were deployed, and after successfully bringing the fire under initial control at around 8 p.m. on the 20th, they continued clearing the remaining embers.
A total of 121 people, including logistics center staff, evacuated on their own, so there were no casualties, but two firefighters received treatment for smoke inhalation and exhaustion. The fire department and police plan to investigate the cause of the fire, safety management issues, and structural vulnerabilities.
