During the 15th FiveYear Plan period, Yunnan Province will carry out an allaround upgrade of its traditional Chinese medicine service system, focusing on leveraging local medicinal herb resources and the foundation of ethnic medicine to promote coordinated development across industries such as biomedicine, medicinal herb cultivation and processing.
According to a press conference held in Kunming on July 20, Yunnan will take steps in areas including the construction of provinciallevel traditional Chinese medicine highlands, the coordinated allocation of resources across prefectures, cities, and counties, strengthening grassroots capabilities, and expanding service areas, in order to improve the supply of traditional Chinese medicine services and make it more convenient for the public to seek medical care nearby and use traditional Chinese medicine services.
The local government also plans to advance the action to strengthen the foundations of traditional Chinese medicine and promote appropriate traditional Chinese medicine techniques, with the goal of enabling more municipallevel traditional Chinese medicine hospitals to meet Grade A tertiary standards before 2030, and achieving full coverage of traditional Chinese medicine clinics in township health centers and community health service centers. Yunnan said the relevant measures will further improve the accessibility of grassroots medical services.
