On July 31, the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Provincial Supervisory Commission issued a bulletin stating that Wang Cehong, former deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group and vice chairman of the Leshan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, had been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for serious disciplinary and legal violations.
The bulletin said that, after investigation, Wang Cehong was found to have been disloyal and dishonest to the Party, to have colluded in testimony to confront the investigation, to have concealed and failed to report personal matters, to have sought benefits for others and accepted money and property in the adjustment of cadre posts, to have illegally accepted gifts and cash, to have engaged in profitmaking activities in violation of regulations, and to have used his authority to help others buy stocks in order to seek personal gain.
In addition, he was also accused of failing to properly perform his duties in investment promotion work, and of using the convenience of his position to seek benefits for others in areas such as land reserve and acquisition and project approval, while accepting an extraordinarily large amount of money and property. The proceeds from the relevant disciplinary and legal violations have been recovered.
