On July 29, the National Flood Control Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to consult with multiple departments to assess the development trend of the recent heavy rainfall and deploy flood control work in key areas. At present, Guangdong, Sichuan, and Gansu are maintaining a Level IV emergency response for flood control, while Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps are maintaining a Level IV emergency response for drought relief. Work teams dispatched earlier are still in Guangdong guiding flood control and disaster relief. According to forecasts, in the next three days, moderate to heavy rain will occur in Central China, South China, northern Northeast China, the central and eastern parts of Northwest China, and eastern Southwest China. Torrential rain may occur in coastal South China, the Sichuan Basin, Heilongjiang, and other areas. Relevant departments pointed out that this round of rainfall covers a wide area and affects many locations, and the situation for flood control and disaster relief remains severe and complex. The meeting required all localities and departments to fully shoulder flood control responsibilities, strengthen coordination between shortterm forecasts and imminentdisaster warnings, promptly organize the evacuation of threatened residents, and at the same time intensify inspections for hidden risks at key sites such as bridges, culverts, tunnels, elderly care institutions, and tailings ponds, ensure the safety of power, transportation, water supply, and water conservancy projects, and prepare emergency rescue forces and supplies in advance to improve rapid response capabilities after disasters occur.
